Karin studied theater at New York University for the first two years of her undergraduate career.  The answer is self explanatory!
 

What local college did both Karin and Dan attend?

After Karin returned from her first semester of studies in London and decided to move into graphic arts, she took some classes at Catonsville Community College.  Dan had previously gone to school there.

Dan had numerous jobs while putting himself through college.  Two of these were with Sunglass Hut in nearby malls.

Dan’s last and final time in the retail business was at an athletic shoe store in Columbia.  He is now very happy to be out of retail forever.

Dan’s first trip to London (via Icelandic Airways) entailed just about every transportation fiasco known to humankind.  His second (and very smooth) trip was in May 1998, for Karin’s graduation from the American College in London and for the purpose outlined in the next question. The pictures at the top of this page were taken right after the graduation ceremonies, which were held at London’s Savoy Theatre.  Dan claims not to be photogenic, but he certainly projected a great likeness at this happy occasion.

The OXO Tower is an architectural gem on the south bank of the Thames.  It was once the headquarters for the manufacturer of OXO bouillon (as in beef bouillon, not gold bullion) and is notable for the large windows which spell out OXO near the top of the building.  It has now been converted into flats and other uses, and one of Karin’s instructors lived there.  It offers a wonderful view back toward London.

(The Bromo Seltzer Tower is a Baltimore landmark, built to resemble the famous tower of the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence.  You can see it just to the right of the building with the slanted roof in the two west-facing pictures near the bottom of the Rehearsal Dinner page.)
 

What is Dan’s job?

“Traffic” is a term in the advertising industry, associated with control of workflow through the office.  Dan works in the ad department of Senior Campus Living, a national chain of retirement communities.

BWI (Baltimore-Washington International Airport) was a favorite choice among attendees at the shower.

Note:  We got confused about Baltimore geography.  Charles & Light don’t intersect.

Karin is a graphic designer for a small design firm in Rockville, MD, a suburb of Washington.  Some of their design work is for the IRS!
